Things to Do in South Goa
This is a breath taking and mysterious beach. As the name says, the Shape of the valley is similar to a Butterfly. This is located between the Palolem and Agonda Beaches of South Goa. This beach is one of the captivating places in all of Goa. A hidden land of adventure, peppered with some stunning views & aquatic life; that’s Butterfly Beach for you! The beauty of the hidden gem has an aura of calmness and bliss attached to it. Semi-circle shaped landscape, millions of butterflies flying over the hilltop blossoms, and acrobatics of the dolphins around ensure a wonderful experience.
It’s known for its calm waters and for its nightlife, including “silent discos” where partygoers wear headphones. Lined with palm trees and colorful wooden shacks, the beach faces Canacona Island, known for its resident monkeys. To the south, turtles nest at Galgibaga Beach. Inland, Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary is home to birds, wild boars and gaur.
A very popular tourist destination known for its beaches, food, pubs and bars. The buildings here speak of Portuguese significance of history, elegance and architecture. This beach is suitable for water sports, generally over crowded though.
There is a private owned Rock climbing site at Agonda beach in South Goa, where you could climb a 30-metre seaside cliff or any dozens of boulders of varying grades of difficulty. The sea side setting is breath taking and the climbing is spectacular.

Full Moon Party
These parties are hosted by Colva Beach on Full Moon Nights. Hippies, Tourists and locals gather on the beach side to dance and drink in the midst of disco lights and loud music. These parties usually last till early morning of the next day and is always crowded.
Hot Air Balloon
South Goa has a launch site for all the Hot Air Balloons which is Assolda Ground. This is a magical and another unforgettable experience over South Goa. The duration is 45 – 60 minutes and you fly high up in the sky and enjoy breath taking views of the surroundings from 2500 feet above the ground.
Big Foot Museum
This Museum is located in Loutolim. Knows as a miniature Goan village which recreates the rural life of old days. In this model village one can also see different miniature houses that showcase traditional occupation and social classes such as fishermen, Goan artisans, a Music school known as Escola da Musica, farmers, liquors shops, the village market, and a feni distillery.

Cotiago Wildlife Sanctuary
The sanctuary is known for its dense forest of tall trees, some of which reach 30 metres in height. The forest supports moist deciduous trees, semi-evergreen trees, and evergreen trees. A special feature of the sanctuary is a treetop watchtower positioned 25 metres above a watering hole where animals go to drink. The best times to visit the watchtower are dawn and dusk when animals are most likely to be visiting. Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Canacona Taluka, South Goa district, of Goa.
