Things to Do in Munnar
Visit Top Station
Top Station is the highest point in Munnar with a height of 1700 m. It is located at the Kerala – Tamil Nadu border around a distance of 30 Km from Munnar. Abundant foliage and low lying clouds makes Top Station scenic. The hills will be covered with Neelakurunji, a shrub with blue flowers, once in every 12 years. Top Station is also famous for tea plantations.
Eravikulam National Park
Eravikulam National Park is a beautiful park with the background of tea plantations. The wildlife park located in the high ranges of Southern Western Ghats can be accessed via Munnar. The region is famous for flora & fauna and the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri Tahr. Major parts of the park is covered with grass, hillocks, and sholas. Eravikulam offers splendid view of Anamudi Peak which is the highest peak in South India.
Echo Point is located around 15 Km from Munnar town. As the name suggests, you can hear your voice echoing through the reservior and coming back reverberated. Echo Point is the junction of three beautiful and scenic mountain rages namely Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundela. It offers a unique and appealing beauty.
Pothanmedu View Point
Pothanmedu is a spectacular place for adventure tourism, treks and hikes. Lush greeneries and refreshing plantations of tea,coffee and cardamom adds more beauty to Pothanmedu. The aesthetic point offers a panoramic view of Munnar and adjoining valleys.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
Chinnar wild life sanctuary is situated in the rain shadow region of the Western Ghats. It is the second habitat for Grizzled giant squirrel in India. The sanctuary offers a distinctive thorny scrub forest with xerophytic species. Reportedly 34 species of mammals, 245 species of birds, 36 species of reptiles, 22 species of amphibians are there in Chinnar. You can spot Grizzled giant squirrel, Sambar, Spotted deer, Panther, Gaur, Hanuman monkey, Elephant etc in this region.
Lakshmi Hills Trek
The magnificent Lakshmi Hills is located around 3 Km from Munnar. It offers an astounding trekking experience to nature lovers and adventure seekers. This is a 5 hours trek through the lush green grasslands and tea plantations. The best time to visit Lakshmi Hills is anytime during the year except monsoon.
Chokramudi peak is one of the highest peaks in Munnar with an altitude of around 7200 ft. This enchanting and isolated peak offers spectacular views of Idukki dam and Anamudi peak. This is a 3 hour trek easy trek. The perfect time to visit Chokramudi is during the winter season. The frosty and chilled climate makes your trek a pleasant experience.
Lockheart Gap View Point
Located in Mattupatty, Lockheart Gap View Point is located in the Munnar – Madurai National Highway around 13 kms from Munnar. It is one of the soothing and serene places to visit in Munnar.
